What is a cookie bar?
A cookie bar (or cookie banner) is a website tool that informs visitors about the use of personal data stored in text files called cookies and their use for other purposes (customizing settings, tracking website traffic, targeted advertising, etc.). The cookie bar's graphical interface may differ from website to website.
Who must have cookies and what must they comply with according to GDPR?
Any website operator that stores information about a user or gains access to data stored on the end devices of participants.
Since January 2022, an amendment to the Electronic Communications Act (127/2005 Coll.) has been in force in the Czech Republic , which tightens the rules for using cookies on websites. According to amendment number 374/2021 Coll., the website operator may use cookies only with the consent of the user who meets the requirements of GDPR - Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council.
