GGoogle has launched a new spam update , an update to the ranking algorithm but aimed at the spam side of the search results. The company has called this update “June 2024 spam update” and according to the launch statement its deployment will take about a week to complete .
This update comes shortly after the largest of its core updates, which lasted for almost two months between March and April of this year and which, as a novelty, also included the revision of the algorithm to improve the quality of search results and reduce spam .
Fighting low-quality content
At the time, Google explained that it had introduced a uruguay number data number of important new features to reduce spam and improve the quality of search results: to better understand whether web pages are useless, offer a poor user experience or seem to be created for search engines rather than for people. Among these was the “implementation of algorithmic improvements in its ranking systems” to show the most useful information and reduce unoriginal content in search results. The company expected at the time that these improvements would reduce low-quality content by 45%.
It also included measures against large-scale low-quality content production , where content is produced to boost search rankings, either through automation or human intervention. It also announced that action would be taken against site reputation abuse, where third parties publish low-quality content on trusted sites, and against the abuse of repurposed expired domains to boost the rankings of low-quality content.
