Who will be affected?
The legislation will affect anyone who uses personal data for commercial purposes. Whether it's email marketing or social media advertising, it will be affected.

Those most affected will be those who use third-party data, for example, by renting email lists. Basically, you won't be able to use them anymore, because you haven't personally requested consent from the people on the list. You also won't be able to prove that they gave you permission to contact them.

In addition, the owners of these third-party lists will also suffer the job seekers data consequences. Unless they can reauthorize their lists, they will be redundant. You need to be able to prove that you have a direct relationship with the person you want to contact. Otherwise, you won't be able to contact them, and you won't be able to retain their data. Data must always be processed lawfully and for a specific purpose. Once that purpose has been fulfilled, the data in question must be deleted.

Furthermore, if an individual wishes to have their data deleted from your database and it is no longer being used for the purpose for which it was acquired, they have the right to do so. This is known as the "right to be forgotten.
