The Report Builder allows you to preview your report on the dashboard by changing the dashboard filters. It may take you a while to figure out which time field you want to apply the dashboard time filter to, but once you get the hang of it, you won't be able to stop.

Don't forget to give your report an interesting name and perhaps a description for your future self and teammates.
