The Burn That Ad campaign makes use of augmented reality to engage users of the Burger King app in Brazil. With the app, users can “burn” ads from Burger King’s competitors by pointing their smartphone at them. When the flames burn out, the person is left with a screen telling them they have received a free Whopper to enjoy at their nearest Burger King restaurant. The campaign was created and developed by David SP. Rafael Donato, the agency’s creative vice president. Through this augmented reality campaign , it is expected that half a million burgers will be given away across the country.
