Before we start grouping keywords into clusters, we first need our dataset of keywords from which to create groups.
In short, our job at this early stage is to find every possible keyword. In the process of doing so, we will inadvertently find many irrelevant keywords (thanks, Keyword Planner). However, it is better to have a lot of relevant and long-tail keywords (and the ability to filter out the irrelevant ones) than to have a limited pool of keywords to target.
For any given client project, I typically say we'll vietnam number data collect anywhere from 1,000 to 6,000 keywords. But truth be told, we've sometimes gotten 10,000+ keywords, and sometimes (in a local, specific client instance), we've gotten less than 1,000.
I recommend collecting keywords from about 8-12 different sources. These sources are:
Your competitors
Third-party data tools (like Moz's Keyword Explorer , AnswerThePublic, etc.)
Your current data in Google Search Console/Google Analytics
Keep your ideas in mind and test them against them.
Mashing keyword combinations
Autocomplete suggestions and "Related searches" from Google
There is no shortage of sources for gathering keywords, and there are more keyword research tools than ever before. Our goal here is to be so comprehensive that we never need to go back and “find more keywords” in the future — unless there is a new topic we are targeting.
