With that said, to complete this process and figure out where your client falls on one of these maturity models, I want to make it clear that this is not a one-way exercise. This is not a situation where you're crunching numbers in a spreadsheet and the agency is grading the client and we're done. This conversation needs to happen.

When you do this maturity assessment, it’s not enough.

This is the first step. It’s not the finish line. We need to use this as a springboard for dialogue to uncover their pain points or the barriers they face within their organization that are preventing you from doing this work.
