Wi-Fi 7 introduces Multi-Link Operation MLO technology

Post by Rina7RS »

However, to take advantage of MLO , you need devices that are compatible with the Wi-Fi 7 standard. Not many people have such devices, even though Windows 11 recently began offering full Wi-Fi 7 compatibility with the launch of the Windows 11 24H2 Update. If you don’t have compatible devices, you can still use the Wi-Fi 7 standard on the ASUS ZenWiFi BQ16, as it was designed to be fully backwards compatible. However, your devices won’t be able to take advantage of all the technologies and improvements included in Wi-Fi 7, and they will automatically fall back to an older version of Wi-Fi that is compatible with the devices you’re using. For example, on my Samsung Galaxy S23 smartphone, all frequency bands emitted by the ASUS ZenWiFi BQ16 were identified as using either Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 6E, but not Wi-Fi 7. The device worked fine, but since it cannot use Wi-Fi 7, this particular device could not take advantage of features such as Multi-Link Operation MLO.

Older devices cannot use Wi-Fi 7

While testing this mesh Wi-Fi system, I didn't encounter bahrain telegram data any compatibility issues and all of my devices connected to the Wi-Fi without issue, even an older smartwatch I use and a few smart plugs that can only connect on the 2.4GHz band using the Wi-Fi 4 standard.

As I mentioned earlier, the ASUS ZenWiFi BQ16 can also be configured and managed using the ASUS Router mobile app . The app is easy to use and provides access to many settings and tools that are logically organized in a user-friendly interface. However, you can’t configure everything that this mesh Wi-Fi system has to offer. For that, you’ll need to access the web interface available on the ASUS ZenWiFi BQ16.

Both the ASUS Router app and the web-based admin interface offer excellent multilingual support. The user interface is available in twenty-five languages, and all settings are logically organized into sections.
