was explaining to you that I am someone who, basically, by nature, never throws paper in the street. I find it completely crazy to do it and I don't do it. And to be someone, a person, who doesn't throw paper in the street, you don't need to have a high level of discipline. The level of discipline is relatively low, the level of discipline required. And the reason why this level of discipline required is low is that the why is not huge, the why is simply social respect. So, why don't we throw paper on the ground? Because we respect others, quite simply. But the why is not something extra deep, it's not something very deep, so the level of discipline we need is not very low. So, it's easy to be someone who doesn't throw paper on the ground.
Now let's imagine that I'm with my children and we're walking down the street. We're walking down the street and suddenly I see a piece of paper on the ground. Let's imagine that I reach down, pick up that piece of paper and throw it in the trash. To do that, I needed a level of discipline that was slightly higher than before. It's a little more difficult from a discipline point of view to pick up a piece of paper off the ground than not to throw it away, but I do it anyway, I still pick up that piece of paper.
I have a little more discipline because the deep The why here is I want to set a good example for my children, whereas before it was just social, global respect. So, here, the why is stronger. My why is I want to set a good example for children. So, since this why is strong, the level of discipline that I will need will be even stronger. So, I will have more discipline thanks to a why that will be more important.
Now let's imagine, third example, I'm walking down the street, I'm alone and I see a piece of paper on the ground and I decide to pick up this piece of paper and put it in a trash can. Here, my laos whatsapp number data level of discipline is even higher than before. And the reason why the level is higher is that the why is even higher. Here, the why, the motivation, the reason why I do it, is that I want to make the world a better place, for example. So, the why, the deep reason is higher and gives me a level of discipline that is higher.
So, here, what you have to remember, the key, the summary, what I want to teach you through these three examples, is that each time the why, the deep reason is stronger, each time this reason, this why is stronger, well the level of discipline is higher. So, to have more discipline in the long term without having to force yourself, you have to have a why, a reason, which are very very strong.
And you can apply this concept to your French learning. If you need more discipline to work a little harder and be able to express yourself in French, well, reinforce your why. One of the ways to do it, and I talked about it in the video that I recommended you watch earlier, was to focus on pleasure, so instead of forcing yourself, do activities that you enjoy. That works very well.
But if you want to go further, which is what we are doing in this video today, you have to look for a deeper reason. And very often, very often, all the members of the Authentic French Academy with whom I exchange and who are the most disciplined, they are the ones who have a stronger reason. The stronger your reason for learning French, the more discipline you will have to do it.
If you learn French just to have an extra line on your CV, the why is not strong, so your discipline will be rather weak, rather low. On the other hand, if you learn French because a member of your family, for example, is French, then your why is strong and your discipline will be much higher. So, ask yourself the question of knowing… no. So, ask yourself: “What is my why? Why am I learning French? How can I make this why even stronger?” and make this why motivating. Your level of discipline will be increased tenfold.
There's a quote that I really like from Jim Rohn, that I often quote on this channel because it's a great source of inspiration for me, Jim Rohn, a famous American speaker and writer, he had this quote: "If you went where I'm going, you'd get up early, too." So, we're really in this idea huh. If you went where I'm going, that means if you had my why, if you had my goal, well you too would get up early, that would allow you to have more discipline. So make your why inspiring. Your discipline will be almost infinite.
As you can see, it will help you with everyday things, such as learning French, but also with much deeper aspects of your life, such as your family life or even your spirituality.
So, that's it for today. I hope you enjoyed it. If so, don't hesitate to leave a little thumbs up, a little "like", to encourage us to continue the personal development videos.
