M-commerce (also mobile commerce) is the further development of e-commerce and stands for online commerce that is carried out via mobile devices. Not only are more and more people surfing the internet with smartphones and tablets, but more and more are also shopping from their mobile devices. Mobile shopping has more than doubled from 2014 to 2019. The advantages are obvious: it can be convenient, quick and customers can also shop on the go.

Which devices shoppers use for shopping
The computer is still the most commonly used device for online shopping. Two thirds of consumers either always or often shop from their computer. The smartphone comes in second place, well ahead of the tablet. Mobile apps are used almost as often as the web browser or the online shop's mobile website.
