Apps to monitor energy consumption are popular
In our study, Germans say they are saving on gas, electricity and water: 52% of consumers surveyed said they are using less of these due to the economic situation. Various devices or technologies can be used to monitor energy consumption and keep their expenses under control: 58% of our surveyed consumers say they use them. Furthermore, 79% of consumers have changed their energy consumption habits to save money. The three most frequently changed habits were:
Using energy-efficient appliances in the home (39%)
Installing motion detectors in some rooms that automatically turn the lights on and off (30%)
How Germans keep track of their savings/spending
