As the physical world goes online, we find systems that are so critical that they cannot be taken offline for updates or patches. For example, key manufacturing components, medical devices, or utility sensors. The consequences of downtime in these technical systems quickly manifest in the physical world and can disrupt water or power supplies, manufacturing, or healthcare.
In such environments, self-protection of devices using software patches or antivirus agents is out of the question. To protect such systems, organizations should use virtual guards, shifting the focus to regaining control after the previously used tools are no longer effective in maintaining the desired position. Using them allows enterprises to optimally organize active EoT defense.
Tales of Security: Castle Siege
Vladimir Bezmaly | 01.10.2020
The siege of the Black Castle had been going on for a week. But it was still unclear whether Eric the Just's army would be able to take the castle by storm or whether the siege would drag on for a long time. The saddest thing was that there was no time. The castle had to be taken as quickly as possible.
Eric sat in the tent and thought about what to do next.
Suddenly, the chief of the scouts threw back the curtain and entered.
- Eric, the elves have come to report to you. They just returned from reconnaissance.
- Ask.
- Good morning, your majesty! We have just returned argentina mobile database reconnaissance, where we have been for the last three days. And this is what we noticed.
- Yes?
— Early in the morning, at dog hour, when you really want to sleep, 2-3 people come to the castle. They come up and say the same phrase, apparently this is the password. Then a dove is released from the castle, which flies to these people. A note is tied to the dove's leg. The elder reads something written on the note out loud and releases the dove, which returns back. After this, a small gate in the wall opens and people enter the castle. I decided that the visitor knows the password spell, and the dove brings the second part of it. Moreover, we checked, there are a lot of discarded notes and the text on them is not repeated.
