Not all gold glitters

Post by asimd23 »

What better way to symbolize the dawn of a golden age of television than with a golden floor? TeleZüri has been based in the Steinfelsareal in Zurich-West since 1994, exactly a quarter of a century ago. When the national broadcaster Tele24 joined four years later, Roger Schawinski had a golden floor laid - to match the gold-colored Tele24 logo. With the new owner Tamedia in 2001, Tele24 disappeared again, but not the golden floor. Admittedly, gold might have been fashionable at the turn of the millennium.

Ten years later, TeleZüri changed hands again. Peter portugal rcs data Wanner's AZ Medien won the contract in 2011. Two years later, the premises were renovated. And miracles happened: the floor, which many people thought had the atmosphere of a hospital and was described by most as yellow, was to be replaced. The employees were even allowed to participate in choosing a new floor covering. So samples were laid out and the staff agreed on a classy-looking imitation wood floor covering. The anticipation of the cosmetic upgrade was huge. After all, not everything that is gold glitters. The order was placed and one day the floor fitters arrived. With them: the new floor covering. Not imitation wood. Gold-colored! The gold floor was actually replaced by a gold floor. The employees were perplexed.
