Ways to Choose a Domain for Your Website

Post by subornaakter20 »

There are zones in which not everyone can register a domain name. We are talking about government zones, for example .gov. But almost any user can easily create a web resource in the .ru zone. There are several ways to choose a domain.

Independent selection of a domain name + any service for checking availability

Domain availability check is available on any service. It is best to check not only in one zone, so that there are several versions.

The independent choice of a name depends leads for commercial real estate on the person who comes up with it, or rather on his way of thinking. If the choice is made for an organization, then the name should be in an official vein. For a personal web resource (blog, page), the approach is more informal.

The choice of a name is carried out according to the following principle: ten to fifty words and phrases are thrown in that are suitable for the topic of the project and are liked. Moreover, it is preferable to do this on paper, not electronically. The atmosphere should ideally be peaceful, calming. It is great if there is an opportunity to go out into nature and work there. Words, phrases and phrases that come to mind must be written down in order to later check potential domain names for availability.

Let's say a web resource on the topic of car repair has been created. Its purpose should be obvious, so both the owner and the user must understand whether it will be about repairing only domestic cars or also foreign ones. And other similar questions require clear answers so that the main idea and concept of the web resource is clear. Then suitable words are written out, such as "car", "repair", "machine", "garage", "workshop", "mechanic" and others. It makes sense to throw in as many words as possible, as many as come to mind.

Next, we combine words into phrases and combinations, check for employment, make a choice from suitable options, and register. If desired, we add names of tools.

A domain consisting of a couple of words sounds good and is easy to remember, for example element-mebeli.ru. Three-word phrases are also used.

Choosing even one word for a domain is reasonable, but many words are usually already taken. Plus, the domain name contains the main idea or theme of the site, and it is difficult to convey it using only one word. For example, the site dostavka.ru is, at first glance, a short and good-sounding, memorable domain. But it is not clear what kind of delivery is being discussed, what exactly is being delivered, and who this web resource is addressed to. That is, the theme and idea are not fully conveyed, which means the name is an unsuccessful choice.

Although hyphens are not recommended in a domain name because they lower its value, they are sometimes necessary to separate a phrase that blends together into one word.

Creative approach when choosing a domain is only welcome. If the name is long, but sounds good and comprehensively conveys the topic, it is quite suitable for use.
