Find out how companies have adapted to this new way of working and what the future holds for offices.
Home office, which existed as an option for flexible working, needed to be adopted among companies due to the new coronavirus pandemic.
And, if your company also needed to adapt to this new way of working, we'll talk a little more about home office.
Getting to know the home office
As the name suggests, home office is work done from home. The format already existed in some professions and reached its peak in 2018, with 3.8 million Brazilians working from home, according to data from IBGE.
It was a way that companies that already worked digitally found to keep the business running and their employees safe.
This sudden change in the work routine brought some bitcoin data difficulties for companies, such as adjustments, resources for employees and organizing their entire operation remotely.
Home office and the digital world
When we talk about new consumer habits and how the “new normal” has taken hold across the world, we emphasize the digital aspect.
As a result, companies' adaptation to working from home made them realize that their consumers would also be in social isolation and would start buying online. Therefore, they had to take some steps to reach their target audience and keep sales active:
Internet presence
In order to be found by their consumers, companies' presence on websites and social networks has increased. This way, the relationship with customers is maintained, as well as the exposure of their products and services.
Investment in Digital Marketing
There is no point in having social networks and websites if nothing is being done to keep the public informed about products and services. Therefore, investing in marketing strategies and good content was another way that companies found to stay active.
Online sales
Not only did companies that already worked with this format take advantage of the opportunity to reinvent themselves and increase sales, but also those that did not. They felt obliged to adopt the format to avoid losses. A survey conducted by SEBRAE showed that 48% of companies that invested in online and delivery services saw revenue growth during the crisis.
New work routine
We know that returning to work will be completely different after the quarantine. Just to give you an example, companies like Google, Twitter and Facebook have already announced that they will extend their employees' home office after the end of the pandemic.
Some Brazilian companies have agreed to extend their work schedule and will leave it up to their employees to decide whether to stay at home or go to the physical office of the organization to work. A study conducted by Cushman & Wakefield, sent to InfoMoey, showed that 40.2% of companies in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro that did not work from home will adopt it as a permanent way of working once this period is over.
However, there is still the option of creating shifts or alternating teams between working from home and in person, with new offices that respect health and safety measures for employees. This option has become a trend, as shown in a report by FGV in partnership with organizations that analyze the labor market. The study indicated that 30% of companies that adopted home office work during the pandemic will maintain it for at least one day a week after the isolation ends.
