Wider range - more doubts

Time for change
Until 2022, the Russian personal systems market stood on four pillars: a significant share of it was occupied by foreign manufacturers Asus, HP, Lenovo and Acer. The remaining part also mainly belonged to large foreign vendors. Some corporate customers who had been using A-brand equipment for a long time remained loyal to it even after the manufacturers left the market. However, the forced restructuring of logistics chains led to an increase in the cost of imported solutions. At the same time, the lack of official service support for equipment now also requires companies to incur significant maintenance costs.

This naturally led to israel whatsapp resource a decrease in the number of "fans" of foreign equipment. According to the observations of OCS analysts, the number of commercial companies purchasing computer equipment from departed manufacturers has decreased by more than 20% in two years. Under the influence of circumstances, customers were forced to consider alternatives in the form of Chinese and Russian devices, but here they also encountered a number of difficulties.

After the foreign A-brands, which enjoyed exceptional trust among consumers, left the market, a large number of little-known Asian companies and domestic vendors took their place. The new players had yet to win over customers. According to the OCS analytical center, at the turn of 2022–2023, 125 different manufacturers were represented in the Russian market in the laptop segment alone. Such diversity significantly complicated the task of updating the equipment fleet: companies needed time to study the updated range of personal devices, "get acquainted" with new brands and test the equipment.

At the same time, not all customers had the opportunity to postpone the replacement of their computer equipment. Thus, state and budgetary organizations must switch to Russian operating systems and office packages by the end of this year. Their compatibility with domestic computer equipment is much higher than with foreign ones, so this task is closely related to the need to replace computer equipment. According to OCS experts, in 2023, not all state organizations in the regions managed to purchase "registered" equipment due to high demand and long production times. Russian brands, albeit outside the register, became an alternative for them.

China vs Russia
For a long time, there was some skepticism about Russian-made computer equipment in the corporate segment: the option of switching to domestic equipment seemed unclear and controversial to many. However, Chinese manufacturers, who took a significant share of the retail segment due to price, were unable to win over corporate customers. Our analysts note that the sales volume of Chinese devices in the corporate segment has not exceeded 10% in the last few years. Clear delivery conditions, as well as the availability of extended warranty and service support from domestic vendors ultimately contributed to a shift in demand towards a localized product.

Over the past two years, Russian manufacturers have paid great attention to the development of the service direction. Now vendors have a wide range of equipment for prompt repair of devices: machines, soldering stations, CNC (numerical control, programmable machines). In addition, most domestic manufacturers have service centers throughout the country, which is also an important advantage for commercial customers. If in 2022, according to the OCS analytical center, the ratio of sales of domestic computer equipment to foreign was approximately 20% to 80%, then in 2023 these figures were almost equal and reached 49% to 51%.

Growth point
Offers from Russian vendors of PCs, laptops and monoblocks in the corporate segment are becoming more and more numerous — manufacturers are expanding their product lines and increasing their capacities to meet the growing demand. At the moment, only niches of solutions for gaming and complex calculations remain "free", where domestic equipment cannot yet fully replace the competitors that have left. Nevertheless, the Russian market does not stand still, and it is quite possible that domestic vendors will soon be able to present competitive devices in this segment.
