Facebook , YouTube , Twitter and Microsoft have decided to put aside their rivalry and have announced the creation of a group to combat terrorism . An agreement by which the four companies will collaborate to increase surveillance on their platforms , as well as to promote studies and work jointly with other organizations and institutions.

The four companies will work together on the basis of initiatives proposed at the European Internet Forum and on the shared database of unique digital fingerprints launched last December.
