This year, in an attempt to combat electoral corruption, the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) and the Movement to Combat Electoral Corruption (MCCE) signed a cooperation agreement to combat disinformation during the elections. As part of the action plan, the MCCE committed to carrying out awareness-raising activities on the harmfulness and illegality of spreading false content and to promoting discussion on topics related to democracy, human rights and the importance of the Electoral Court.

Currently, among 180 countries analyzed, Brazil ranks 96th in the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI), the world's leading indicator of corruption. The index is the most widely used reference on the planet by decision-makers in the public and private sectors to assess risks and plan their actions. According to the survey carried out by Transparency International, the country fell two positions in the world corruption ranking, compared to 2020.

Failure to combat corruption directly undermines human rights in all countries. In 2015, the United Nations (UN) organized a proposal for its member countries to develop a new sustainable development agenda for the next 13 years, the 2030 Agenda, composed of 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs) . Among the goals, number 16 aims to promote peaceful, just and inclusive societies that provide equal access to justice and that are based on respect for human rights, an effective rule of law, good governance at all levels and transparent, effective and accountable institutions.
