How we tested the button in AITOM

Post by suchona.kani.z »

Prepare two versions of the test. Each version will be shown to a portion of the users. You can show option A to half of the users and option B to the other, or show option B to every third visitor. Based on their reactions, you will then choose the winner. Always test two variants against each other – after all, the method is called A/B testing, not A/B/C/D. You are not practicing the alphabet, but choosing a functional solution.

You're nearing the finale. The testing period is over and you can evaluate the results. Based on Google Analytics data, evaluate which variant users liked more. Alternatively, continue testing if the results are unclear or you don't have enough data.

At AITOM, we decided to try a change. You usually find green buttons on our website. This is because it is our corporate color and also because green is positively perceived by both men and women. We decided to take a risk and try orange and brown buttons .

Colors have a great influence on our psyche and decision-making. The color gcash database orange is quite aggressive, but when making a purchase, it evokes a fair offer and availability in us. We often perceive the color brown as a guarantee of reliability. An interesting infographic in English about how colors affect conversions can be found here .

We chose conversion as the metric – in our case, filling out a survey . We want to test the button for half a year. We started testing at the end of May, so we are halfway through, but we can already see the results.

Google Analytics compares the new variants with the original green one. So far, the orange button is leading the way :

A/B testing is a basic method for studying user behavior. Of course, there are also significantly more complex and sophisticated testing methods. For example, using multivariate tests, you can test several elements on a page. However, such testing is complex and requires experience to evaluate correctly.
