Altai Tavan Bogd National Park : It is in Altai, on the western edge of Mongolia , between the borders with Russia and China , in the Altai Tavan Bogd National Park that we find the highest mountain in the country: Mount Khuiten with an altitude of 4374 m. This area also called "the five sacred mountains of Altai" is appreciated by mountaineering enthusiasts. They particularly appreciate the Malchin (the shepherd) at 4037 m above sea level or the Nairamdal (friendship) at 4082 m above sea level. The landscapes are just as fabulous: many pine and larch forests as well as lakes.
Gorkhi-Terelj National Park : If you are leaving from the capital, Gorkhi-Terelj National Park is an ideal destination to contrast with the architecture of the city environment. It is only 2 hours from Ulaanbaatar . You can go on excursions, horseback riding, mountain biking or walking between the rocky mountains and rivers. In winter, people come here by dog sled.
Khustain Nuruu National Park : This is where you will find the legendary Przewalski horses , named after a Russian explorer. They had disappeared from the country around the 1960s before a Dutch foundation reintroduced them in 1992. In fact, the initial goal of the park was to reintroduce this species and ensure the balance of the natural ecosystem. Indeed, this part of Mongolia is home to several varieties of flora and fauna: deer, roe deer, lynx, red foxes, marmots, gray wolves and hundreds of species of birds.
Khorgho Natural Park : an exceptional natural site that is home to the 2 wonders of Mongolia : Lake Tekhiin Tsagaan Nuur and the extinct volcano of Khorgo. Tekhiin Tsagaan Nuur or White Lake of the Terkh River is the most beautiful lake in Mongolia. Surrounded by craters of other extinct volcanoes, it is located in a very wild place around 200 m above sea level in Arkhangai . It is a lake with very fishy waters. Pike is particularly popular there.
