And this topic, actually, it was funny because I talked about it, I addressed it in my podcast Marchez Avec Johan in June 2023, it was called " the power of intention ". I reinforced that recently a few weeks ago and it was before seeing Ling-En, because I record these episodes a little in advance. So, before seeing Ling-En, I had recorded an episode called "a tip to use on a daily basis", and so, it came out a few weeks ago.
in these different contents, I invited you, I invite you to set intention. An intention is a kind of objective, it is something, let's say, that we want to obtain, that we want to do. We are ready to take actions for this thing, we seek to have something. So, setting an intention is an active process. Intention is being active.
We don't let ourselves go without thinking, we don't let ourselves go, as I said, with the flow of the water. "With the flow of the water" is an expression that shows that ultimately we let ourselves be carried. If you throw a piece of light wood on the water, well the piece of wood will move forward, but it's the water that will decide, it's the flow of the water, it's the current of the water that will make the piece of wood move forward. So, it's a process that is completely passive. So, defining an intention allows you to move from a passive process to an active process.
And so, in this example, in the example that I just took with my friend Ling-En, it was precisely to say to ourselves: "Me, tonight, I would like us to have talked about these subjects, one, two, three, I would like..." so, in this case, here, I had subjects that I had prepared, because I always define an intention, so, I didn't wait for him to tell me to do it, I already had a list of things that I wanted to talk about with him. So, I told him: "I would like to talk about these subjects. I would like to take about an hour to do some personal work on my computer. I would like us to go for a walk."
I recorded a vlog in Strasbourg, which will israel whatsapp number data probably be online by the time you hear this podcast, so go check out the Français Authentique YouTube channel . By the way, Ling-En says a few words in this video, in this vlog.
And there you have it, we had set the intention. The opposite would have been to say: "We'll see each other, we'll smile, we'll talk, and we'll talk, and we'll talk", and after a while, to say: "Well wait, I'm hungry, so we're going to go eat. And, hey, do you want a coffee?" So, you see, we would have been in total improvisation, which is not bad in itself, but for this kind of event, I think it's still good, much better to have set an intention to try to enjoy it, because he took his time, I took my time, so we both took our precious time to see each other and we want to get something out of it, we want to get benefits from it, quite simply.
Another personal example that came to mind is that before our stay in London, so, I spoke last week in this podcast of Marchez Avec Johan about our family stay in London , well I had also set an intention.
So the big intention was to say to myself, "I want this trip to be a masterpiece and for the kids to remember it for the rest of their lives." And for that, I had imagined a certain number of things. So, obviously, there are the activities that I talked about in last week's podcast, which were already ready in my mind, because I literally wanted this trip to be something they would remember for the rest of their lives. So, that was my intention. You see, I didn't do it by saying, "Okay, we're going to London and we'll see. Depending on the weather, we'll decide what we're going to do, etc." No, it was an active process.
In fact in these different episodes
