Complexity management

Application Management
The report's authors note that application consumption and performance are perennial challenges for network administrators. This year, cost and complexity topped the list of concerns, followed by slow response times.

Collaboration apps continue to gain momentum, with the following products most frequently cited by respondents as the most important:

Microsoft Teams - 58%;
Microsoft 365 - 55%;
Zoom — 35%;
Google Docs - 35%;
Salesforce - 28%;
SAPHana - 25%.
Additionally, 48% of respondents have deployed hong kong mobile database collaboration applications. Compliance and regulation were cited as a challenge by 50% of respondents.

The study found that some organizations are managing the management complexity by hiring managed service providers to keep their global networks running smoothly. When it comes to SD-WAN and SASE, many organizations are still undecided. Closing legacy data centers is part of this transition: within a year, 35% of respondents will close all their data centers and move to the cloud. A smaller group, 27%, will eliminate some data centers in favor of cloud deployments.

Regarding SASE, the survey found that many companies are still defining their overall strategy and goals. Other SASE initiatives include:

phasing out legacy VPNs;
consolidation of SWG, CASB and ZTNA;
gradual phase-out of specialized safety devices;
measuring user experience and SLA compliance;
creating a cross-functional team.
The biggest barrier to SASE adoption is concerns about management complexity, but Ginsberg believes the benefits of implementing the technology outweigh the downsides, and companies are starting to realize that. “We’re just at the beginning of a transition that will happen over the next five to 10 years,” he said.
