You can install Alpaca through the Flathub app store. On this store page, you can download the installation package in .flatpakref format or use special commands for the terminal to install the application.

After installation, launch the application:

We are immediately offered to open the model manager. We open it:

Let's choose a model from this list. Let's take, for sweden telegram data example, Llama3 from Meta*. This neural network was created for a very wide range of tasks. With its help, you can get answers to various questions in natural language, generate code, analyze texts, and much more. Load the neural network and after the installation process is complete, close the model manager window. You can immediately start entering the first query:

Here, three query options are already offered in English. Let's ask the neural network to tell us something about astronomy:

Alpaca
I had to specify in the request that the answer was needed in Russian. Without this clarification, the neural network would write the answer in English. As we can see, the answer turned out to be quite detailed. The neural network did a good job of dividing the composition of the Solar System into groups, indicating all the known large planets and some of their satellites. It did not forget to write about the small bodies of the Solar System. The information, of course, is not entirely complete. For example, about the same comets, one could write that they can be short-period and long-period.

The KDE community is developing a similar application called Alpaka. You can see a little bit of it on this page . At the time of writing, the application is still in development and has not been released anywhere.

There are also a couple of apps for Windows and macOS to work with Ollama models. You can find the Windows app here , and the Mac, iPhone, and iPad app here .
