Did you know that life expectancy in Spain is the second best in the world, after Japan?

Did you know that 10% of patients admitted to Spanish hospitals develop an Adverse Event (AE) during their hospital stay, and that 40% of these cases could have been avoided? Or that life expectancy in Spain is the second best in the world, after that of Japan ?

These are some of the facts we learned at our latest Digital Meetings with readers of the newspaper El Economista, in which we spoke with the Patient Safety expert, Eduardo Sierra, Director of Healthcare Sector Courses at Bureau Veritas Business School .

Although Patient Safety and health risk management is a field forex data that needs to be improved in general, Sierra supports the Spanish health system , which he says is at the same level as that of the leading countries in Europe .

Patient Safety is a fundamental dimension of quality care. Without safety, there can be no quality healthcare. Sierra has listed some of the measures that can be implemented today to improve it.

Within the necessary training in the subject, Bureau Veritas Business School has launched the courses Patient Safety and Health Risk Management. Standard UNE 179003 and Patient Safety and Health Risk Management in Nursing. Standard UNE 179003 . The Director has also spoken to us about them.

Professor and head of the Department of Internal Medicine at Stanford University, Arthur Bloomfield, said that “there are some patients we cannot help, but there are none we cannot harm.” These words show us the importance we must give to Patient Safety. What do you think.
