Emotional image works

Like many individuals and companies, my colleagues came up with a spontaneous action. Within a day, written-off books were sold at three locations and money was collected. With every small initiative, including ours, the need for good visual material quickly arose. And then you can go to the website of the Samenwerkende Hulporganisaties. The press section of the website offers logos, campaign posters, banners and even an entire website overlay that you can use. In addition, contact details and (oh yes) press releases. But image comes first, and that is very smart.
Banner Giro555
The press image for the Philippines is a single photo of a sad boy against the pakistan mobile phone number list rubble caused by typhoon Haiyan. The photo dominates the Giro555 website and – because speed and clarity are required – is appearing in more and more websites, posters and television broadcasts. The repetition effect of the black and white photo with the yellow button ensures recognition and visual unity. The call-to-action “Give now!” cannot be missed.
The photo also speaks a strong language in terms of sentiment. This is the cliché image of the gypsy boy with the tear that is in the collective memory of many of us. But then translated into the harsh black and white reality of the Philippines at this moment.
