Google tests video advertising on sponsored links

Google is testing the inclusion of videos in sponsored links that accompany its search results.

With this video test, Google hopes to attract advertising clients from the entertainment sector. Some advertisers are interested in this format; for example, EA will use it to advertise its game Need amazon data for Speed ​​and the film studio Miramax for the promotion of its film Extract .

With this move, Google is trying to distance itself from the classic text-based sponsored links. The search engine has also experimented with inserting small images into sponsored links.

In addition, marketing professionals will have to deal with the fact that Google places greater emphasis on links, while Bing rewards words contained in the text, but its strategy could change in the coming months, and both strategies must also take into account Facebook and Twitter as factors that provide up-to-date information.

In this sense, the stakes will be set when companies begin to prepare their budgets for 2010 and decide whether they want to corner Bing's third or, on the contrary, opt for the traditional model of the "Google" paradigm.
