The German Federal Network Agency announced in a press release today that it will ban the sale of smartwatches for children . This is because, according to the German agency, these types of devices allow illegal wiretapping .
Specialized for children between 5 and 12 years old, these smart watches contain an integrated transmission system that allows parents to monitor their children and know where they are.
To carry out this listening, all parents have to do is install an application on their mobile devices. Using the app, parents can make the smartwatch call their mobile phones without their child knowing.
The German government agency considers this to be a problem because if the child is uganda phone number near other people with this device, parents can listen to other people's conversations .
According to Jochen Homman , president of the Federal Network Agency, there is evidence that some parents have carried out such secret eavesdropping to find out what their children's teachers say in class .
The German government agency is therefore urging schools to be particularly vigilant in ensuring that their pupils are wearing such devices. It has also stated that if it detects that a child is wearing a smartwatch, it will force the parents to destroy the watch and send it evidence.
