Meta will allow European users to unlink Facebook, Instagram and Messenger accounts

ANDIn response to the upcoming implementation of the Digital Markets Act (DMA) in March 2024, Meta has announced a number of new options for Facebook and Instagram users in the EU, the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland.


These modifications are added to a series of other changes that the technology company has been implementing in order to comply with this new regulation, the objective of which is to eliminate unfair competition . An example of this is its progress towards interoperability in WhatsApp .

Personalized choices for a more controlled experience
According to the company's statement , in the coming weeks, users will receive notifications detailing how they can personalize their experience on various services . Available options include:

Connection between Facebook and Instagram : users with bangladesh number data connected accounts will be able to choose to continue sharing information between both platforms or manage them independently.
Facebook Messenger : You will be given the option to continue using Messenger with a Facebook account or create a new, standalone Messenger account. This means you can use Messenger without having a Facebook account.
Facebook Marketplace : Users will be able to decide whether or not they want their Marketplace experience to use their Facebook information. Those who opt out will still be able to browse listings and buy and sell items, but will communicate via email instead of Messenger.
Facebook Gaming : Players will have the option to use their Facebook information for an enhanced gaming experience, including multiplayer gaming and in-game purchases, or to play without sharing this information.
Ads : Users will have the option to use Instagram and Facebook with ads, or opt out of them. This option was launched in November 2023.
