HYundai, South Korea's largest carmaker, has suspended all advertising on the X platform . The company made the decision after one of its ads appeared next to an anti-Semitic and pro-Nazi post by one of X's users, CNN reported .
Why Hyundai has stopped advertising in X
The company confirmed this decision in a statement sent to the media, in which a spokesperson said, "We have paused our ads on X and are speaking directly with X about brand safety to ensure this issue is resolved."
Nancy Levine Stearns, a freelance journalist, posted a bolivia number data screenshot on X showing that the Hyundai ad was posted by a user who constantly posts Holocaust denial and anti-Semitism.
For his part, Joe Benarroch, head of commercial operations for X , sent an email to respond to CNN's questions in which he noted that X is working with the automaker's marketing professionals to implement more brand safety controls.
In addition to this, Benarroch claims that X has suspended the @pepedownunder account , which was the site of the anti-Semitic posts and whose bio included anti-Semitic tropes that violated X’s policy against abusive profiles. Now, when you log in to the profile it says “temporarily unavailable.” The executive also reported that the Holocaust post that appeared alongside the Hyundai ad was labeled for violating X’s policy.
