Digital fraud has long been an integral part of the Internet. Usually, electronic platforms successfully cope with hackers' attempts to break security protocols. But no social network can protect users from being deceived by other users. Fraudsters are very active in Telegram, a messenger known for its high level of protection against hacking.

What do the attackers want?
Criminals deceive users for various purposes. Most often, they try to gain access to an account. This is usually done to achieve the following goals:

extortion of money from the user's contacts;

using the account to send advertisements;

reselling a successful channel;

account deletion.

When criminals gain access to a personal account, they can send turkey mobile database messages to contacts. By posing as the user, the attackers deceive his relatives. The criminals ask to transfer money to them or take over new accounts. This method has migrated to TG from other platforms.

Schemes for taking over an account for sending out ads have also migrated from other platforms. Sometimes spam links turn out to be a hook for taking over the next profile in the messenger. After all, a user is more likely to fall for a criminal's link if it comes from a familiar contact.

Public accounts are also a target for Telegram scammers. Channels are often hijacked to publish ads to an already assembled audience. But the criminals' motives are not limited to this: they can resell a channel with a large number of subscribers to other people.

Sometimes the takeover occurs without the purpose of using the profile - the stolen account is simply deleted in the interests of competition.

The motives of criminals are not limited to the above list. They may pursue different goals - from blackmail to industrial espionage.
