The Corona gap is widening. While the event and catering industries are having to worry, e-commerce is profiting, especially the sales of the healthcare sector and manufacturers of everyday products are skyrocketing.
What the first wave showed us
Purchasing behavior changed significantly during the drastic lockdown in March. In its The Shape of Retail Report, the management consultancy Alvarez & Marsal analyzed purchasing behavior during the Corona crisis using surveys.
What did this reveal?
Consumers focus their purchases primarily on their basic needs
E-commerce, as a “safe” shopping option, is being targeted more strongly
Safety is a major consideration for consumers when making purchases
What must be, must be
