If the keyboard does not work at all even after all the steps, there is a temporary solution.
Simple methods if the keyboard does not work
How to turn on the keyboard on a laptop if it doesn't work? Here are some ways to fix your laptop, as well as temporary solutions that will help you do without the built-in keyboard.

These tips are universal and apply to any laptop – Asus, Lenovo, or another laptop manufacturer. The instructions assume working in the Windows operating system. It does not matter which version of the OS you have installed – Windows 10, Windows 7, Vista or Windows 8.

Why don't the keys on my laptop work?
Determine how serious the problem is, perhaps only some keys are faulty, not the entire block. It happens that bread crumbs and small debris got under the button mechanism and because of this the contact was lost or it is not pressed all the way. It happens that the numeric keypad on the right side of the laptop does not work - turn it on by viber data pressing Num Lock or the key combination Num Lock + Fn. Check that the computer is connected to the power supply. Make sure that the problem is not caused by such trivial factors. Then be sure to restart the computer and if nothing has changed, then take more active actions.

Cleaning your keyboard is very important for it to work properly.
To begin with, simple but safe steps.
Disconnecting the laptop battery.
This sounds weird, but it often helps. If your laptop keyboard stops working, turn off the power completely .

Unplug the power cord, close the lid, turn the laptop over, and remove the battery. Check if it is swollen. If so, do not use it, operate from the mains.

If the battery is OK, reinstall it and turn on the laptop.

Updating the keyboard driver.
Don't waste time trying to figure out if there might be a problem with the driver. Just update it.

This is a common way to solve the problem when the keyboard on a laptop does not work. It is also effective if individual keys do not work, but not the entire keyboard.

Right-click Start and select Device Manager . Go to the Keyboards section and right-click on the available keyboard. Select Update driver. Next – Search automatically for updated driver software. If the driver is not the issue, Windows 10 will report that the latest driver is installed on the device.

To be 100% sure that the problem is not with outdated laptop software or a conflict in the operation of individual components, we suggest visiting the manufacturer's website and updating the software manually.

To do this, in the footer or in the menu of the official website of the manufacturer, for example asus.ru, acer.ru, microsoft.ru, find the section Drivers and support (Drivers and utilities). Enter the model or serial number of the device, and update all the proposed software.
