Anti-case of SEO promotion #1.
1% of the result for 3 million rubles per year
Client: A large international company engaged in the production and sale of fertilizers pays for search engine promotion services to one of the well-known agencies providing Internet advertising services.

List of services:

working with reputation – searching for negative mentions of the brand and writing positive ones;
contextual advertising.
The agency's results for the year: website traffic increased by 2 times, which the customer considered a good result.

Monthly bill amount: about 250 thousand rubles.

At first glance, everything seemed fine, but as a turkey consumer email list result of our audit, the following problematic issues were identified:

Most of the queries on the list were names of drugs (in fact, trademarks belonging to the customer), for which it was possible to receive traffic without the contractor’s efforts;
the customer independently conducted offline advertising campaigns aimed at increasing the recognition of drug names, so the increase in the number of visitors for these queries is not the agency’s merit;
the visibility of general queries (for plant diseases, for types of vegetable crops, for names of pests to combat them) was at the level “below the garden bed”;
contextual advertising, with the contract stating 80 thousand rubles per month, was in fact only provided for an amount no more than 20 thousand;
the site contained too many shortcomings that hindered the promotion of commercial requests (for example, requests that the client wanted to see were missing: prices, delivery conditions, etc.);
The contractor did not correct the indicated deficiencies, while continuing to charge for promotion.
When assessing and forecasting traffic in the subject, we found that the site was operating at no more than 1% of its potential ! It turns out that the results achieved by the agency are not such an achievement!
