The expenses of the federal project "Personnel for the Digital Economy", compared to the originally planned ones, were reduced by 117 billion rubles - to 21.18 billion rubles. At the same time, in 2024, no financing was provided for this federal project by the Ministry of Digital Development. The Ministry of Digital Development explained this by the gradual completion of the program and financing by the Ministry of Education and Science, and also assured that support for projects on personnel training will continue within the framework of the new national project "Data Economy".

It shows a significant reduction in spending in this area, especially in the last two years. The Ministry of Digital Development explained this by the gradual completion of the program and funding throughMinistry of Education and Science.
The basic version of the federal project "Personnel for the Digital Economy" wasapprovedin 2019. It assumed expenses for the period from 2019 to 2024 in the amount of 139 billion rubles, almost all of which were to be carried out by the federal budget.
In 2021, the federal project's curator changed: instead of the Ministry of Economic Development, it was replaced by the Ministry of Digital Development. The document itself was radically revised, six new events were added to it, and it was decided to refuse funding for old events. At the same time, the total amount of fundingdecreasedalmost twice as much – to 76.07 billion rubles.
The current version of the document provides for a new reduction in costs - to RUB 21.18 billion, i.e. 3.5 times (and 6.5 times compared to the 2019 version). In absolute terms, the reduction amounted to RUB 54.89 billion (compared to the 2021 version) and RUB 117.82 billion (compared to the 2019 version).
Moreover, the current version of the federal project for 2024 does not provide funding for any of the activities. In 2023, only one activity was funded - training in additional professional programs using government support measures to obtain new digital competencies in demand on the labor market and ensuring the achievement of individual results of the federal project "Personnel for the Digital Economy" based on the ANO "University of the National Technological Initiative 2035".
RUB 3.69 billion was allocated for this event in 2023, and the total costs for it in 2021-23 amounted to RUB 6.23 billion. This is almost 2.5 times less than previously planned - RUB 14.8 billion.
In 2021-22, three more events were also financed. RUB 3.1 billion was allocated to educational organizations implementing primary education programs, basic general, secondary general and secondary vocational education, as well as to provide online access to digital educational resources and services based on ANO VO "Innopolis University". This is almost four times less than previously planned - RUB 11.975 billion.
