The Juneau-Douglas High School: Yadaa.at Kalé Crimson Bears track team had a strong showing against the Kodiak Bears in the Bears Dual On The Rock meet at Kodiak over the weekend.
Seniors Finley Hightower and Carter Harralston won the boys 100 meters in 11.52 and 12.05, respectively, and senior Johnathyn Kestel won the 200 in 24.19.
JDHS freshman Bella Connally won the girls 100 in 12.83 and the 200 in 26.83.
The JDHS girls dominated the distance runs with senior Pacific Ricke winning the 800 in 2:41.01, freshman Sigrid Eller placing second in 2:43.56 and junior Lua Mangaccat third in 2:53.46. Senior Ida Meyer won country wise email marketing list the 1600 in 5:30.76, Ricke was second in 5:58.57, Eller third in 6:03.10, Mangaccat fourth in 6:12.26 and freshman Sunna Shane fifth in 6:22.04.
Freshman Addie Hartman was second in the girls 400 in 1:15.44. Kodiak sophomore Isabelle-Rose Christescu won in 1:09.62.
JDHS seniors Nick Iverson and Hightower went second and third in the boys 400 with 53.66 and 55.48, respectively. Kodiak senior Miles Grimes won in 53.08.
Iverson won the 800 in 2:05.96 with classmate Sage Janes second in 2:12.49. Janes placed second in the 1600 with classmate Owen Woodruff third int 4:42.34 and 4:46.61, respectively. Kodiak’s Grimes won in 4:41.16.
JDHS’ Woodruff won the boys 3,200 in 10:28.53 and JDHS senior Acey Wall won the girls 3,200 in 15:39.70 with classmate Bailey Roguska second in 16:35.50.
Kodiak junior Katrina Baisa won the 100 hurdles in 18.60 and JDHS senior Laina Mesdag was fourth in 20.86 to lead the Crimson Bears. Kodiak’s Baisa won the 300 hurdles in 53.66 and JDHS freshman Addie Hartman placed sixth in 1:04.62 to lead the Crimson Bears.
